Easy Air Fryer French Toast
Air fryer French toast gives you crisp, toasted edges and a soft custardy center without standing over a skillet. A cinnamon-vanilla egg mixture coats each slice, and the air fryer cooks both sides evenly in just a few minutes.
Cut the bread into sticks for an easy kid-friendly breakfast or leave the slices whole for a classic presentation. Serve it with crispy breakfast potatoes or fresh fruit.
Best Bread for Air Fryer French Toast
Thick slices of brioche, challah, Texas toast, or sturdy sandwich bread work best. Slightly stale bread absorbs the custard without becoming too soft.
How to Make It
Whisk eggs, milk, flour, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt until smooth. Dip the bread briefly on both sides, then arrange in a lightly greased air-fryer basket with space between the pieces. Cook at 350°F, flip, and finish until golden.
French Toast Stick Variation
Cut each slice into three sticks before dipping. For cinnamon-sugar sticks, toss the cooked pieces lightly in cinnamon sugar while still warm.
Freezing and Reheating
Freeze cooled pieces in a single layer, then transfer to a freezer bag. Reheat directly from frozen in the air fryer until hot and crisp.
