Crispy Air Fryer Tofu
Crispy air fryer tofu is an easy vegetarian protein with golden edges and a tender center. Extra-firm tofu is pressed, coated lightly with cornstarch and seasoning, then air fried until crisp in about 10 minutes.
The neutral base makes it easy to change the flavor for different meals. Add it to grain bowls, wraps, salads, stir-fries, or serve it as a snack with a dipping sauce. Browse more air fryer recipes for quick ideas.
Why Air Fryer Tofu Gets Crispy
Removing excess moisture is the biggest step. Pressing the tofu helps the outside dry, while cornstarch forms a thin coating that crisps in the circulating hot air.
Seasoning Ideas
Keep it simple with garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper, or switch to za’atar and sumac, curry powder, Cajun seasoning, or Italian herbs depending on how you plan to serve it.
How to Make Air Fryer Tofu
Press the tofu for about 20 minutes, cut it into bite-size cubes, and toss with soy sauce, cornstarch, and seasonings. Arrange in a single layer and air fry at 400°F, flipping once, until the edges are deeply golden.
Storage and Reheating
Store leftovers refrigerated for up to 4 days. Reheat in the air fryer or a hot skillet for a few minutes to restore the crisp exterior.
